At a narrow pickup point, a car that just dropped someone off or a car waiting for another passenger may stop nearby. If you decide only by color, you may look into the window and notice too late that it is the wrong one, or say your destination before realizing the passenger name does not match.

That is why some people compare the app screen and the rear plate before walking to the door. If the last four digits match and the driver's name is close, that is enough to keep going. If the color looks right but the numbers do not, you can stop for a moment and wait for the next car.
